As many of you will be well aware, every December here at Trevena Cross we host a big charity fundraising Santa’s Grotto, and raise an incredible amount of money for nominated charities. We couldn’t do this without the support of volunteers from The Rotary Club of Helston-Lizard who give up their time to make sure the grotto runs smoothly and thousands of children leave with smiles on their faces.
Every year the event grows and the number of visitors rockets, which is great but also means a stretch on both the team here at Trevena Cross and the volunteers from the Rotary Club. As a result, we’re seeking the support of more volunteers this year, to ensure that we can continue to raise as much money as possible for charity and make the grotto the big success that it’s been to date.
Just to be clear – Trevena Cross is a business but doesn’t make a penny from the grotto. None of the materials or many staff hours spent creating and running the grotto are taken from the charity money. We are not trying to recruit free labour – we are trying to continue our charitable efforts as efficiently as possible. We are a relatively small team and are working to capacity, so would welcome some extra help!
