Yes, well behaved dogs on leads, with responsible owners, are allowed in the shop and outdoor areas of the garden centre. Please ensure you clear up after your dog and take any dog waste home with you to dispose of.
There are disabled car parking bays available in both car parks, with good disabled access around the garden centre. There are also a couple of wheelchairs available for use (first come first served unless reserved prior to visit). There is a disabled toilet available in the main garden centre (external) toilet block, and both toilets in the cafe also have disabled access.
Yes, a pull down baby changing table can be found in our disabled toilet(s).
Yes we offer a nationwide delivery service. The most local deliveries are carried out by ourselves in our own delivery van (local delivery charges apply) and the rest are carried out by trusted couriers - all carefully picked and packed prior to collection. Plants will normally be delivered within a couple of days of being picked up from us, to ensure that they arrive in the best condition. Delivery charges can be found on our website.
We do have a Trevena Cross Loyalty Card. Customers collect six stamps (one stamp for every £15+ transaction) after which they exchange the card for a £10 Trevena Cross Gift Voucher. There is no time limit for filling the card, or spending the £10 redeemed. This scheme operates separately from the Palm Tree Bistro. Customers can acquire a new loyalty card once they have filled one. Full terms and conditions for the loyalty scheme are as follows:
Loyalty Card Terms and Conditions
- This card will be stamped following an individual transaction of £15 or more, after any discounts have been applied.
- One stamp per visit, regardless of spend in excess of £15. Shopping cannot be split into multiples of £15 to acquire extra stamps on a single shopping trip.
- After the sixth £15+ spend, a free £10 Trevena Cross gift voucher will be issued to the customer, and the stamped loyalty card will be retained by Trevena Cross.
- The loyalty card is valid for spend in the garden centre only. The on-site Palm Tree Bistro is excluded.
- The free £10 Trevena Cross gift voucher reward issued after six £15+ transactions is valid for spend in the garden centre only. The on-site Palm Tree Bistro is excluded.
- Loyalty cards can only be presented for stamping during in-store transactions. They cannot be ‘virtually stamped’ for orders placed online, over the phone or via email. They also cannot be stamped upon delivery of plants/goods to a chosen delivery address.
- Trevena Cross staff have the right to refuse to stamp a loyalty card if it is defaced or appears to have been tampered with or doctored in any way that is not in keeping with the rules of the loyalty scheme.
- We reserve the right to withdraw this loyalty scheme at any time at our discretion
If you can 't find the plant you're looking for on the garden centre, it is worth asking if it is one that we have/grow, as we may have it up in our nursery. We grow more than 90% of the plants that we sell so it could be that there are some 'on the way', just not established enough to sell yet. If it isn't one we grow or can get from a supplier, we may be able to offer a close substitute. Alternatively, there may be a good reason why we don't have it (e.g. if it is too tender or disease prone).
We sell National Garden Gift Vouchers/cards, which can be spent in any participating garden centre, and we sell Trevena Cross Gift Vouchers, which can be spent with us. Both are available to buy in our online shop.
If we are given a list we will do our best to respond with what we're able to supply. It is highly likely that we would need to recommend substitutes in some cases though. We much prefer being given information about the planting space and recommending plants that we believe will best fit/work in that space.
We don't offer a design or planting service. We are happy to advise customers what plants would work well where, if we are given a plan or photos of the space, but we don't have the resources to offer a full design or planting service.
Our plant expertise is one of our main strengths, so yes we're always happy to offer help or advice in relation to specific garden or plant queries. The best way to make your enquiry is via email, with full details. Please include any photos you think would be helpful too.
We can hire out plants for various events such as weddings or film shoots. The cost of hire is 20% of the plant retail price. Any plant not returned in its original condition, will be charged at full retail price. The client is responsible for picking up and returning the plants as per the agreement made with Trevena Cross at time of booking.
We advertise any job vacancies on our Facebook page/website and on local job sites (usually indeed.com). Any enquiries re. job vacancies should be directed to [email protected]
Yes, we stock a selection of peat free compost and growing media.
Yes, we have an organic compost choice, and in the shop sell organic fertiliser, weedkillers and pest controls.
There has always been an environmental conscience at the heart of Trevena Cross. Harnessing and using renewable energy, using and promoting organic pesticides, soil based composts, and Trevena Cross own fertiliser are just some of the ways that Trevena Cross has tried to minimize adverse environmental impacts. Creating and supporting wildlife habitats - for a diverse range of species - across the huge 35 acre site, has also been prioritised. With a particular plastic reduction focus, Trevena Cross now only gives out biodegradable bags. Perhaps the biggest plastic challenge though is the plant pot. Trevena Cross reuses and recycles all of its own plant pots in the nursery, and no longer acquires new black plastic pots - only other colours that can be fully recycled via kerbside pick-up. Due to the growing process it will take some time to get to the point where there is no longer any black plastic pots on site, but the nursery is certainly heading in that direction and continues to seek ways to reduce its plastic use.

The garden centre doesn't currently accept back black pot returns from customers, due to the high costs associated with sorting and recycling pots that did not originate form Trevena Cross.
We have designated local charities that we support throughout the year, and will always try to support the community of Breage and Ashton any way we can. We receive a large number of requests every month for charitable donations and unfortunately are not in a position to be able to meet them all.
We are happy to replace items that are faulty/not fit for purpose, assuming we have proof of purchase/can be sure that they originated from us. If a suitable replacement isn't available, we will offer a credit note or a refund.
We can take bookings for larger parties but in most cases there is no need to book, as we have plenty of seating and can accommodate walk-ins. Booking for a Sunday Roast is reccommended (available seasonally).
