Never was there a better example of Cornish community spirit and generosity than recently in Carbis Bay – where one very deserving family’s home and garden was transformed by the DIY SOS: The Big Build Team and a huge group of local volunteers, offering an outpouring of support and help over the nine day build.
The build was to give the family much needed extra space that would hugely improve their living conditions and allow them to enjoy spending time in their home and garden.
Generous donations of a vast array of different products and services – and many peoples’ time, gave the project the boost it needed to ensure complete success and a deadline that was met.
We were happy to support the project and the people who worked hard to make the outside space as special as it could be for the family, by donating a variety of plants – big and small – that would fit perfectly with the overall ‘vision’ for the space.
John went down for ‘The Big Reveal’ at the end of the build, when the home was handed back to its owners, and was delighted to discover that the family loved the garden. John was able to get a few photographs of the morning – though we’re unable to share any specifically of the garden as the programme hasn’t yet aired yet!
An air date for this DIY SOS: The Big Build episode is yet to be set but we’ll keep you posted when it is, so that you can learn more about the incredible family involved and the incredible build that took place, practically on the doorstep!
