Trevena Cross Scoops Gold at Royal Cornwall

We’ve scooped a top accolade, a Large Gold Medal, and The Richards & Osborne Trophy for Best Use of Colour in our flower display at this year’s Royal Cornwall Show.

Creating this year’s display was more challenging than ever, with the cold, wet start to spring leaving many of the plants on the nursery way behind where they should be for the time of year – and many reluctant to bloom in time for the three day event.

To be given top awards such as these was therefore a surprise, but a very well received one, for the team here at Trevena Cross!

The retail world and horticultural world has had it hard recently – and suffered a double blow with poor weather adding fuel to the economic fire. It is achievements like this that affirm you’re good at what you do, and are appreciated for it, that inspire you to continue fighting the fire alongside valued, loyal customers (many of which visited the show!)

Carefully combining and coordinating mixed shrubs and perennials, with exotica the nursery is so renowned for, clinched the awards for the display – awards which were the icing on the cake for the nursery at a show it is proud to be a part of.
