Along with the Rotary Club of Helston-Lizard, we have helped to bring the Macmillan Cancer Support Cove Centre at the Royal Cornwall Hospital another step closer with a terrific donation of £2,460 – which we presented to the cause here at Trevena Cross last week.
It’s the result of our first ever charity ‘winter wonderland’ event, supported by members of Helston-Lizard Rotary, who volunteered as Santas for children visiting the Christmas Grotto.
Trevena Cross Owner Graham Jeffery said, “Just over 500 children visited along with parents and relatives which was far more than we expected and meant we’ve been able to give such a sizeable donation to The Cove. It was a terrific success and we’re already planning a bigger event for Christmas 2016!”
The Cove Macmillan Support Centre will provide a hub for support and advice for people with cancer and their families and friends. The Appeal has a target of £1 million.
