Well what a couple of weekends we’ve had so far at our Trevena Cross Christmas Extravaganza! Father Christmas has already met more than 1,500 children in his spectacular grotto, and he’s not done yet! Working especially hard at this time of year, along with his dedicated elves, the most important man of the festive season is helping to create magical memories for plenty of children and their families this December!…AND raise lots of money for nominated local charities The Invictus Trust, Cornwall Air Ambulance and community causes in the Parish of Breage (Christmas lunches for Breage/Ashton and Carleen residents, and Christmas hampers for Breage and Ashton residents). A big thank you to The Rotary Club of Helston-Lizard for their ‘grotto support’. No need to book to see Father Christmas – just turn up on the day!
This coming weekend (15th/16th December) will be the third of the big Trevena Cross Christmas Extravaganza – and the final chance to catch the full Christmas Market. Market and grotto will be open 10am-4pm, the shop will still be bursting with Christmas decorations, lights and gifts, and our experienced ‘tree netters’ will be on hand to help you choose your perfect Christmas tree if you’ve not yet made that important annual decision! We still have plenty to choose from! Musical entertainment will come from Mr B Presents – a new act to Trevena Cross, and returning act Gwelhellin.
On the next two Thursdays (13th & 20th December) we’ll be open until 8pm, to give you the ultimate late night shopping experience! Father Christmas will be here 3-8pm, our lights will be all of a twinkle, the mulled wine will be flowing and the Garden Kitchen Cafe will be serving up delicious meals and sweet treats too. Don’t forget the shopping too of course!
To ensure that he gives local children every possible opportunity to visit him, Father Christmas has also promised us that he will also be in his magical grotto the final weekend before Christmas (22nd/23rd December) for last minute requests before he embarks on his mammoth annual expedition on Christmas eve!! The magical grotto will be open 10am-4pm as per the previous weekends, but the full Christmas market will not be on. The shop will still be all of a festive frenzy for last minute gifts and decs’ though, and we’ll be on hand to help out with last minute Christmas tree purchases too!
