This deciduous shrub is hardy and has great colour on the pinkish red new shoots. In the summer the leaves change to a yellow green colour before taking on pinkish red autumn colours. In the spring the white elder flowers have a sweet fragrance and are followed by black berries. Growing to about 2.5-3m tall and 1.5m wide. Best in full sun but will take a little shade. Plant in a free draining soil for the best results.
