A stunning evergreen shrub from New Zealand. New shoots are brilliant reddish pink maturing to a textured blackish red when the weather gets colder in the winter. Height 1.5-2m with a spread of 1.5m. Can be pruned to control the size. Mature  plants produce open cup shaped white flowers in the summer, followed by dark black red berries in the autumn. Grows best when planted in a free draining soil where it should be hardy to about -7°C.
