We’ve had great success with a couple of products in the nursery this past growing season, as too has Graham (Trevena Cross owner) in his own garden.
One of these is SylvaGrow peat-free compost, a unique blend of fine bark, wood fibre and coir. Containing no peat or green waste compost, it is termed a ‘professional quality compost’ and is indeed used by a whole range of professional growers – as well as being available for the home gardener to directly benefit from too. Recently awarded a ‘Which? Best Buy’, it has balanced nutrients sufficient for the first 4-6 weeks of growth. Suitable for raising seeds and cuttings, for potting on, for planting out and for use in containers, it is certainly very versatile, and we’ve seen the fantastic results it can produce first hand.
When you next go to pick up a bag of your usual compost, why not stop and consider what else is on offer?!
