This very early flowering hydrangea - the first of the paniculatas - can begin flowering at the end of May in a good summer, with a sencond flowering in September. A small variety, it grows to about 1.5m/4.9ft tall, with a spread of around 2m/6ft. Its slightly flat white panicle flowers have a wonderful elegance about them, starting creamy and turning white. Flowering on old wood, it should be pruned hard after flowering. It enjoys full sun or partial shade.
