Pale pink-white flowers with a strong magenta stripe down the centre of each petal make a striking and beautiful contrast with the mahogany, almost black foliage on this super perennial. Flowers are produced from June until the first frost, and look stunning in a border or pots and containers. It is best planted in full sun in rich, moisture retentive soil. Tubors can be lifted in autumn and stored in a dark, dry place until any danger of frost has passed the following year, when they can be replanted. Alternatively use plenty of mulch to protect from frosts in the winter.
