Native to South Africa, Agapanthus x PITCHOUNE Blue 'Scrarey' (height to around 50cm/1.6ft) has beautiful blue inflorescences on stems that stand above dark green evergreen foliage in mild climates. Recommended for small spaces or container growing, this compact variety with dense foliage flowers from early July through to September if planted in a moist soil in sun or partial shade. Like most agapanthus, it appreciates a dry mulch of sand or straw in winter to protect it from the coldest temperatures.
Agapanthus Pacific Blue
A vigorous but compact plant, (height to 60cm/2ft, spread 30cm/12inches) its leaves are fresh green and relatively broad, with violet-blue flowers that bloom on long stems during the summer.
Great blue flowers are displayed on this plant (height to 80cm/2.6ft, spread 50cm/1.6ft) during the summer, alongside lush strap-like leaves. It should be planted in an open sunny spot in a fertile, well drained soil - great for coastal planting too. It also looks great in pots!
