Phyllostachys bambusoides Castillonis is the most popular form of the Phyllostachys bambusoides varieties (height up to 5m/16ft) with its striking yellow culms with green sulcus. It's a strong grower, slower spreading than most other Phyllostachys varieties, and successful in colder regions. For collectors, after something a bit unusual and dramatic this is a highly sought after bamboo, ultimately due to its sheer beauty! Its tight clumping growth habit makes it great for screening or as a single specimen. It prefers full sun or partial shade in a fertile, well drained soil.
