A prostrate shrub (max height 60cm/2ft) with red bristly stems and heart-shaped, glossy, green leaves tinged with pinky tones. Pretty saucer-shaped white flowers appear in summer (June to August) followed by red fruit in the autumn (September). It prefers full sun to partial shade.
Rubus tricolour x swinhoe
A good spineless ground cover plant with attractive leaves. Black fruit in autumn follows white flowers in summer. It should be planted in full sun to partial shade in a well drained soil. A great one for ground cover on banks.
