Imajo produce gorgeous gifts for children, including traditional rag dolls, play dolls, crochet toys and classic softies.
Their traditional rag dolls are made in Sri Lanka in a factory which follows fair trade principles, where no children are employed and all the workers are paid fair wages plus other additional benefits.
Supporting the local economy is something Imajo believes strongly in. Wherever possible, raw materials are bought locally. This can mean that the finished items are completely unique – true originals with added charm. Imajo classic softies are also made in Sri Lanka, using certified organic cotton.
Their play dolls are made in a well-managed factory in China and the crochet toys are made entirely by hand in Thailand. The supplier is part of a Thai government project to support community goods called OTOP - One Tambon One Product (A Tambon is a village). It helps traditional Thai handicraft business in small villages to promote their products, by giving assistance on quality, internet technology and communications. Most employees are housewives, soldiers' wives and agricultural workers in rural areas.
